We Have Answers.

At ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE, we are committed to providing the highest quality products. Nothing less. We use only the finest ingredients: whole muscle beef, pork and poultry, and spices sourced from around the globe. That’s why ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE stands out.

Uli founded the business in 2000 in the iconic Pike Place Market in Seattle. The brand is still owned and operated by Uli Lengenberg, a certified German Master Butcher. His team is committed to quality. Over the years, our company has grown, but our standards for quality and service have never wavered.  You can read more about our history and the ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE brand on our website under Our Founder.

We use only whole-muscle, 95% lean skinless and boneless chicken thigh and 80% lean whole-muscle pork shoulder and lamb boneless leg. What does whole muscle mean? Basically, we use the same cuts of meat you could find in your local supermarket and use in your entrées at home. We do not use trimmings or “mystery meat” to make our products.

We use all-natural meat, meaning it is not altered or “plumped” in any way. Our spices and ingredients are also natural.  Our products contain NO:  preservatives, additives or fillers, artificial colors or flavors, MSG or nitrites (other then what naturally occurs in salt). All meat used at ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE is antibiotic free.

Ingredients are listed on the packaging of your ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE product and on our website.

All of our products have lower than average sodium levels. However, we do not have any product that is labeled low sodium.

We have product lists available for people with sensitivities to particular ingredients. Please contact us by calling our factory. We’d be delighted to answer your questions or mail specific information to you.

There are also ingredients listed on package and nutrition facts under each item online.

Yes, apart from our English Bangers(gluten) and Irish Knockers(gluten).  Any product with beer contains wheat beer: Beer Bratwurst and Men’s Room Original Sausage. All of our OTHER products are gluten free.

We follow the truth in labeling policies on all our products. The top eight allergens required by the FDA (dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, and shellfish) will always be listed in the “contains” section of the packaging. If we ever change the ingredients in our products, the changes would be reflected on the label.

The only way to guarantee a product is non-GMO is to buy USDA certified organic products or non-GMO verified products.

At ULI’S FAMOUS SAUSAGE, we are proud to say that we do not add MSG to any of our products.  All sausages contain no gluten unless labeled, artificial colors, flavors or Caramel colors, MSG, fillers or by-products, or trans-fat.

Please refer to the expiration date on our packaging, which was determined by our team’s rigorous shelf-life testing. Depending on the handling prior to refrigeration, fresh product should last up to 7 days in your fridge if the package has been opened. Product should last up to 2 weeks if still vacuum packed.  These are approximate times depending on handling prior to refrigeration and temp in your fridge.  Product will last up to 180 days if frozen and kept in your freezer.

We use lamb, hog, and collagen casing.  The only product we use collagen casings for is our Bier Bites. Please feel free to refer to our website for more specific label information.

Most of our sausages are “fresh”, meaning they are not pre-cooked or cured in any way. They contain only fresh meat and spices. We leave the cooking to you, and you get a juicy, tender, and fresh tasting sausage.  We do have a variety of fresh sausages that are placed in our smoke house which you can find listed on our website.  We also sell cooked products like our Weisswurst or smoked and cooked like our frankfurters. We ship fresh products daily via our distributors and our drivers.  Remember you can also pick up fresh products from our factory.

Uli’s Famous Sausage suggests the following fool-proof method of cooking sausage links properly every time, which does not rob the sausage of taste or texture.

There are almost as many ways to cook Uli’s Famous Sausage as there are Uli’s Famous Sausage varieties.

But some of the favorite practices are:

GRILL: FRESH SAUSAGES only

Grill over a hot bar-b-que or fire for 10-15 minutes

Cover to speed cooking. Internal Temp should be higher than 155F

BAKE OR BROIL:

Bake or Broil in a pre-heated 375°-450° oven for 10-15 minutes.

STOVE TOP and or GRIDDLE:

A MUST for White Sausages or any Sausages made with Cheese but especially for the ones with Fruits!  Cook on MEDIUM heat with a little margarine/oil/butter.

SIMMER:

A MUST for Frankfurters

Simmer in water, soup or sauce for about 20 minutes.

Core Temperature must reach 165 degrees F.

SMOKED PRODUCT:

All of our smoked product is already cooked and just needs to be heated.

FINAL NOTE – DO NOT:

Boil/ Try to simmer at most

Microwave, only in an Emergency!

Do not overcook as the juices/flavors will be extracted from the sausage the higher you cook the sausage links

Prick as juices and flavors will have holes to leave.

To cook our bulk sausage or sausage taken out of the casing: Either form into a patty (about ½” in thickness) and pan-fry over medium heat in a small amount of olive oil, or crumble the sausage into a pan and cook over medium heat, breaking up with a wooden spoon, until sausage is no longer pink inside.

Pork sausages should reach a final internal temperature of 155°F and chicken sausages should reach a final internal temperature of 165°F. For maximum juiciness do not overcook; use a meat thermometer to take temperature readings.

Every product should and must have its own distinct personality.

My customers do not buy my sausages because of price. They buy them because they are great products. Every one of them is made with dedication and caring. I believe in the proper amount of spices and flavoring and the best cuts of meat possible."
